We will be undertaking a programme of grounds maintenance in order to uplift green areas in our communities and improve our environmental impact. One of the issues that came into light was how quickly some of our areas of grass and shrubbery became overgrown and unattractive during the initial lockdown period. Due to this, our Grounds Maintenance team were not able to tend to them.
But as soon as they were able to do so, we put on an escalated programme of works to rectify the situation. This then initiated a conversation about what we can do to make the green areas more attractive that will be manageable, whilst also creating added benefits to the environment.
Therefore, we are implementing a Winter Grounds Maintenance works programme. This will provide customers and community members with an enhanced service and neighbourhood offer!
The works will include:
Some major upgrades to shrub beds, creating aesthetically pleasing designs in highly visible areas
The introduction of managed meadow schemes, creating beautiful, vibrant wildflower meadows – and forming natural habitats for bees, birds and other wildlife
New, more attractive bin stores at blocks of flats where bin access has previously been a problem for residents and the council
We look forward to seeing the results of the programme and the impacts of the improvements! If you have any questions concerning this, please contact our Customer Excellence Team here.
