As part of King Charles' Coronation, we held multiple afternoon tea events at some of our locations, read about it here.
Thank you to lottery funding we were able to host The Royal Afternoon Tea in our 16 Community Living Schemes.
Our schemes give support to residents over the age of 55 within Newcastle-Under-Lyme. The number of residents in Newcastle that we house within these independent living complexes are approximately 600 residents. We offer a range of support from 1-1 support and advocate support in collaboration with partners to wrap around care and support to make our residents as happy as can be in their homes. We ensure vibrancy and activities are provided to promote inclusion, stimulation, and positive engagement.
We were delighted that residents in these schemes could be fully engaged with and have fun and to celebrate. We have taken this opportunity to run an afternoon tea party for every resident living within the 16 complexes. These consisted of celebrations, music, games and recognise our royal family and importance of community spirit. We put an event on at every one of our schemes the week leading up to the Coronation so none of our older residents miss out and get to enjoy this wonderful and important celebration. We provided afternoon tea for every resident, bunting, banners, and party wear. Music, quizzes, games, such as Royal Bingo, Pin the Tail on the Crowne, Pass the Royal Parcel, Competitions, and Recognition were organised for some of our longest serving tenants enjoying our homes.
Our main targets with these activities were as follows:
