Our development, Holborn Place, has entered its final stages of construction!
It has 89 new homes for over-55’s: 75 one-bed and 14 two-bed apartments for social rent, and will be ready later this year.
This month, we celebrated the ‘topping out’ stage of the development, signifying that the structure has now reached its maximum height. This ceremony has been celebrated as early as the 8th century!
It’s fantastic to see Holborn Place take shape on the edge of our town centre, and we’re excited to be entering the final stretch of the development. This site will be a flagship community living scheme in Newcastle-under-Lyme, providing a happy, modern and aspirational home to older residents for generations to come – it’s already attracting a lot of interest as a desirable home for our customers.
What will it feature?
Holborn Place will introduce 89 specially designed homes for independent living, a rooftop terrace for residents to enjoy, a wellbeing room, warm and open social spaces, and an attractive communal garden. On top of this, it will be an enterprising community space, bringing local partners together and providing valuable community services to all the residents in the surrounding areas.
Our partners, Vistry Partnerships, are helping to build the scheme in line with the Government’s Future Homes Standard, meaning that the building will incorporate energy-efficient materials and technology resulting in at least a 31% improvement in carbon emissions compared with current Building Regulations.
We’re very happy that Vistry Partnerships West Midlands feel pleased with the development too!
We are looking forward to our former Ashfields residents moving into Holborn Place, and glad that they’re excited to do so too.
