Recently, we held our Gardening Competition among our Community Living Schemes to see which has the best and most improved garden, and the competition got heated! All 11 schemes did extremely well and have produced some lovely gardens. This was a great opportunity to get outdoors, work collaboratively, and make some beautiful outside spaces.
Here are some of our wonderful entries:
The gardening groups have helped our residents to get out throughout the lockdowns and has really helped their wellbeing.
Thank you to all our judges, including Andy, Matt and Massey from Achieve Training, the Mayor of Newcastle-under-Lyme, and our Community Connector Sharon Battiste – all of their gardens look amazing, and was a hard task to choose the winner.
Here are the results!
1st Place – Falkirk Grange: £50 voucher
Joint 2nd Place – Gordon Court and Highfield Grange: £30 voucher each
3rd Place – Kimberley Grange: £20 voucher
Most Improved – Porthill Green: £20 voucher
Highly Commended – The Meadows, Earls Court, Gloucester Grange, Castletown Grange, Mill Rise, Sneydlands
A big thank you to Katie Adams (Morrisons Champion) for the kind donation of compost and bedding plants for all 11 community living schemes.
Congratulations to all!
