Housing Fair

Come to the North Staffordshire Housing Fair on Friday 14 May – All you need to know about getting a home of your own.

Orbit HomeBuy Agents and Stoke-on-Trent City Council will be joined at the event by other housing associations and developers operating in the region as well as regeneration agencies, private landlords, the Citizen’s Advice Bureau, building societies, independent financial advisors and solicitors to ensure that visitors have access to as much information as possible about housing issues. The Fire Service will also be giving information on home safety.

Amongst those organisations attending areNewcastle Borough Council, Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, Stafford Borough Council, Plumlife, Sanctuary Housing Association, Aspire Housing, Riverside, Stafford and Rural Homes, Staffordshire Housing Association, Miller Homes, Lovell, and Taylor Wimpey.

Orbit HomeBuy Agents Manager, Karen Coleman said: “Many people who desperately want their own home are unaware that help is available and these events are a great way of promoting all the schemes that are on offer. We’ve organised similar events in the past and they’ve always been popular but we hope that they’ll prove an even bigger success this time round. Last year, we processed around 1,000 applications each month from people looking for a home they could afford, and as long as your household income is less than £60,000, we may be able to help you, too. So, make sure you put the date in your diary.”

Detailed information will be available on all types of housing options including affordable home ownership products that residents may be able to take advantage of as well as details of developers offering affordable homes in the region. A number of Independent Financial Advisers and solicitors from Orbit HomeBuy Agents’ panels have also been invited to attend and they will be on hand to provide free advice on buying a home under one of these schemes to anyone who wishes to find out more.

Val Bourne, Head of Housing Services at Stoke-on-Trent City Council said: “We are very pleased to be hosting this important event. The North Staffordshire Housing Fair will demonstrate the breadth of support available for residents to help them into good quality and affordable housing. There will be a wide range of service providers available to talk to and I urge as many people as possible to attend.”

The event is totally free and there is a Pay & Display car park nearby for those choosing to travel by car.
