A new joint allocations policy agreed by Newcastle Borough Council and Aspire Housing in 2012 is being introduced from 25 March 2013.
Aspire Housing is writing to everyone on the housing register – people who have applied for housing or people who have applied for transfer – to let them know of the changes.
The policy makes important changes about the local connection people have to have, the amount of equity they can hold, banding assessments and the number of bedrooms applicants are entitled to. There is also an important change in the policy for the way Aspire Housing treats customers who make “unreasonable” refusals.
A summary of the changes is available on the NHA Options website at http://www.nhaoptions.co.uk
