Call for residents to join Chesterton Cake Off

Members of the community are being asked to simply decorate a cake and bring it along to the Chesterton Community Centre, London Road on 12 July where judging will take place at 5pm.

Open to all ages, the cake off prizes are £100 for the best decorated cake, £50 for the second best and £25 for third.

The cake off is part of Aspire Housing’s neighbourhood plans, to help make Chesterton a better place in which to live. It follows on from Aspire’s neighbourhood plans improving Crackley and Poolfields.

Aspire Housing owns 690 homes in Chesterton and is consulting with residents to introduce neighbourhood plans to help them to build safer, greener, healthier and stronger communities. The plans also tackle unemployment and antisocial behaviour.

Aspire is working with partner organisations to offer a variety of different information sessions and support to meet the different needs of its customers.

Caroline Baggaley, Aspire’s head of housing, said: “The Cake Off is a great way of bringing people of all ages in Chesterton to a fun community event. Aspire Housing listens to the views of its customers and we look forward to working with the communities of Chesterton.”

In the autumn, Aspire Housing will also be focusing on introducing new neighbourhood plans for Silverdale.
