Call for darts players to enter £1001 prize money knockout challenge

The fun challenge is taking place on Bank Holiday Monday 6 May at Birches Head Gardeners Club, Oak Street, ST1 2NB. The competition kicks off at 12 noon and it is hoped that 64 teams of three-four players will take part.

Players will hope to stay on the oche until 7pm in their bid to win some of the £1001 prize money. The last team standing will win the knockout competition.

If you want to take part, it costs £15 per team and the £1001 prize fund will be available to a number of teams, depending on where they finish.

Charity co-ordinator Ben Morris said: “The idea came from Steve Rushton, Director of Partnerships at the Aspire Group. We subsequently spoke to local darts supplier A180, who then kindly offered most of the support for this challenge, by donating their darts boards and equipment to make the event possible”.

Chief Executive of the Realise Foundation Will Nixon said: “This is a great idea. We’ve already raised £3,500 for the Realise Foundation as colleagues and partners have shown their interest in the event. I’d also like to thank partners BS Supplies, Carson Powell, Rydale Roofing, Derek Mawby Paving, Adept Vehicle Management, Longton Protective Clothing, Kelly Molyneux and Welsh Engineering for their support to make this a fun day for everyone.”
