The Cheaper Energy Together Community Partnership brings together 30 leading organisations across the UK to help get local residents a fairer deal on their energy bills, including local authorities, housing associations and charities.
The project will provide a collective and instant energy switching service to get households a better deal through the power of group buying, and will also provide free energy saving advice and support.
Residents will be able to sign up online, on the phone, or at a series of local events in the next two months, before a big community switch is held in March.
“We are really excited at the prospect of bringing a better energy deal to our customers,” said Wayne Hughes, Managing Director of Aspire Housing on behalf of the partners.
‘We want to make sure everyone has the chance to make a real saving on their energy bills, so we will be making an extra effort to work with households who haven’t switched before, and those who may be facing fuel poverty.”
